Alright, time to jump back in the game ~

It has certainly been a while hasn't it! Who knew that moving to the city and working full time would take over my life?? I guess I should have seen it coming.

Moving to NYC has been more of a shock to my reality than I anticipated, my routine and priorities and ego have had to be completely reinvented. Which is a good thing! But it's been a slow process of rediscovering myself in a very new place and finding my footing. I got really sucked into working at this start-up but it got bought out a month ago so now I  guess I'm back on the hunt. A couple posts ago I talked some about feeling disconnected with blogging, like it suddenly was feeling inorganic. It's taken me these few months to really unpack that, I definitely needed a break to figure out my shit. So now I am devising a plan for jumping back in but with a fresh set of goals!  As much as fashion and style can be superficial it's also a great tool for self-awareness and learning to trust yourself and your visual identity. I want to get back into sewing, I want to start a depop, I want to rediscover my routine!  I want to channel plants and stars and mountains and my true demon center!

I put out an album last November and for some ridiculous reason never posted it, so here it is below!! I'm working on finishing another one now so stay tuned for that, it's where 99% of my energy has been going these past months. More soon I promise!!! :-)

Here I am wearing a choker and a jean jacket from Zaful :-)
This outfit feel much more like me than the last one I posted, but all around I feel like I am beginning to feel more like myself in this city. I can't believe it but yesterday I got the coolest job, I start on monday, and its better than any of the dozens of others I applied to and makes the past 3 months of rejection and worrying completely worth it. It's at this really cool company called Electric Objects, I'll write more about it once I've actually started but it looks like I'll be writing about the collections and emailing artists. Oh man I'm so excited.

Yo it's been a lil while! Oh my goodness I don't even know where to begin. Nyc is insane and I don't think I can even attempt to describe my first two months here in it's entirety. It's so overwhelming that I've given up on trying to process anything, I feel like I'm watching my life happen from a birds eye view. It's wonderful but still very transitional and confusing and silly to try to talk about it.
However one thing I've been thinking a lot about is the reason(s) I've been doing this whole fashion blog thing, and I think my perspective has shifted during the move. When I was in Blacksburg it felt so organic and empowering, but now that I'm in the city I'm starting to see it in this greater scheme of superficial social climbing that nearly everyone here is a part of. I want to keep blogging and I want to feel good about it but I think I need to discover a new routine here and it might take a while. Basically what I'm getting at here is that I might be posting less while I'm reevaluating shit. Also my camera is kind of broken and I need to get a new one but also I need a good job and who knew nyc was expensive??? lol
On another note, my big project right now is putting out my debut album (crossing my fingers for november). I've worked so fucking hard on it and its so close to my heart, I'm really excited and really nervous that the release date is finally coming up. like what if nobody listens or cares? but hey even if that happens it'll be ok because I love writing music and nothings gonna stop me :-)

Here I am wearing a really lovely floral dress from Dezzal, which is one of my new favorite stores! This dress is so light and and the fabric hangs so beautifully, I love the way it moves when I walk. That's the kind of thing that's hard to capture in a photo.
I've been in Brooklyn for almost two weeks now. I've settled in pretty well, made some new friends and explored a lot. I'm going to be working at a witchy bookstore on Sundays, but I'm still trying to find a regular 9-5 type job. But things are coming together and even if it's scary sometimes I'm really excited to be here!

Here I am wearing a floral romper from Gamiss :-)
It's super comfortable and it matches my new black hair! I finally moved in to my new place in Brooklyn this weekend. I already love it here, my roommates and apartment and neighborhood are wonderful. Now I just need to find a job!
Anyway I'll be posting regularly again now that I have my own room and internet and I'm all settled. I finished mastering my EP so that's going to be coming out soon. I'm really excited to get to know the city and figure out a new routine!

Here I am wearing a red overall dress from Yoins :-) It's a little small for me but very cute all the same, and the fabric is so soft! It's kind of like, fake suede.
I've fallen behind on posting lately because I'm currently living in this cabin in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. It's lovely but I don't have internet so it's been hard to keep up with my normal internet routine. But I'm moving to Brooklyn in less than two weeks, so then I should be posting a lot more and playing catch up. It doesn't feel real yet, everything is set up and I know it's happening but it still seems like some distant, abstract idea. Sometimes it hits me in waves that it's real and I get super excited or scared. I can't wait to decorate my new room and explore the neighborhood and see my friends. There is so much to do, wow wow wow, I'm just trying to take it one step at a time!!

Best To You

Here I am wearing a long mesh skirt from SheIn :-) I feel like the pictures don't really capture it but the mesh is pleated very beautifully and I love the way it moves when I walk. It is a simple outfit but appropriate for a very sleepy, overcast day.
Half of my shit is packed up in boxes right now, oh my god moving is so emotionally taxing. I still have so much work left to do. I'm also really not looking forward to being indefinitely displaced until I move to NYC, but I guess I'll just have a lot of free time for applying to jobs. At least I hope to harness some magic energy while I'm chillin out in the middle of nowhere rural VA.
